A natural choice

There are a growing number of ‘green’ woodland burial grounds/nature reserves in the country. This offers a more ecologically aware choice. Accordingly, the coffins we supply for such a funeral are environmentally friendly, manufactured from biodegradable materials and are available in a variety of styles.

As memorials are not allowed, trees are planted instead to create conservation areas for wildlife.

What is a ‘green burial’?

Green burial, also known as Natural burial or Woodland burial is a rapidly growing alternative funeral choice with over 270 sites being developed nationwide since 1994.

Natural Burial:

  • Provides a more environmentally friendly option than cremation.

  • A more natural setting than a traditional graveyard.

  • Welcomes followers of all religions or none, as well as those seeking a spiritual alternative.

  • Allows greater choice and participation for family and friends. Helping those involved come to terms with the grieving process more fully.

  • They are an alternative to traditional funerals and encourage a wider choice of ceremony.

  • Designed to blend in with the surroundings and so alleviate any grave maintenance.

  • As nature intended - no headstones, wreaths or plastic flowers are allowed.
